Marhaban ya Ramadhan

Ramadan has came, people swarm to the mosque to perform congregation tarawih prayer. In this blessed month, all Muslims are obligated to fast. Lots of activities can be done on this month. Mothers are busy shopping at the market to prepare a meal for ‘berbuka’ (break fast) and ‘sahur’ (the meal eaten before daybreak during the fasting month). There are also children who go to the mosque for reciting Qur’an.

However, Body of Executive Student (BEM) Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures (FBBA) Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang have other ways to welcome Ramadan 1432 H. On Saturday-Sunday, August 13^th-14^th, 2011 BEM FBBA held ‘baksos’ (charity) on JL. Karang Tengah RT. 08 RW. 03 Genuk Sari District, Genuk Subdistrict, Semarang.

The theme of this event is ‘Ramadhan Satukan Kita dengan Semangat Berbagi’. It is intended in order we are competing to achieve Allah reward by helping our brethren who are less capable. In addition, it is also intended for us in order to always share to the others.

For two days of this program, BEM FBBA makes several activities such as reading daily prayer and Qur’an contest for children in kindergartens and elementary schools. This BEM also held an English Teaching. All activities are held in the Fadhisatul Zaman Mosque in Karang Tengah area as well.
